Royal is a 15.2 hand, 5 year old, chestnut with
a long white blaze/stripe, registered thoroughbred gelding. He is a beautiful
young gelding whose
registered name is Counting Missiles.
His bloodlines include some “royal” horses so we decided to give him his
new name. He is the grandson of
Spectacular Bid on his dam’s side and the grandson of of A.P. Indy on his
sire’s side. Additionally, Royal is a
great-great-great grandson of Secretariat.
He had spent his life to in an all thoroughbred pasture before coming to
Doxy’s on December 2, 2012 as a flighty, nervous horse. By December 31,
2012 Royal had settled right
in and has become “one of the crowd”. He
leads well and is very people friendly.
Royal is the perfect horse for
someone who’s
looking for a project. He gets along well
with other horses, has great ground manners, a great personality, mellow and
laid back, and is a very quick learner.
We began lunging him in May 2013.
Royal is not suitable for activities related to jumping Royal
will be trained to ride western
using natural horsemanship techniques and has had a
saddle on, receptive to the weight but wasn’t crazy about the girth. The adoption fee
for this horse is $900. All excellent
homes will be considered.
